New Visions Homeless Services – Video Campaign
🎯 The Mission
New Visions Homeless Services came to us with a goal as bold as it was important:
Change public perception of homelessness. Spark real support. Raise real funds.
They didn’t want pity. They wanted purpose. They wanted stories—stories that would open minds, shift attitudes, and put New Visions’ mission front and center in the hearts of the community.
We said: Let’s make it happen.
So we rolled camera on a three-part video campaign that did exactly that.
🎬 Our Role
We handled creative direction and full video production from top to bottom. Think story development, interviews, on-the-fly adjustments (including a reschedule due to my own surprise medical hiccup), and the kind of editing that makes you feel something.
Each video had a different focus—but together, they built a unified narrative:
🎥 Video 1: Brandy – Vision & Misconceptions
The leadership perspective.
In this piece, Brandy, the voice and vision behind New Visions, set the record straight. She addressed the big misconceptions about homelessness—unpacking the stereotypes, systemic issues, and the real reasons people fall through the cracks. It’s a powerful framing piece—anchoring the campaign in leadership, empathy, and clarity.
Spoiler: it’s hard to watch this one and walk away unchanged.
Yes, shameless plug! 😍💸😇
🎥 Video 2 & 3: Willie – Fundraising for the Omaha Veterans Center
The rally cry.
This video turns the spotlight on Willie, a veteran whose journey from crisis to confidence is nothing short of inspiring.
His story became the heart of a targeted fundraising effort for a new Veterans Center in Omaha—a space designed to support those who’ve served and now need a hand.
This piece was all about hope and forward motion. And let’s be real—Willie? He’s a star. 🎖️
🎥 Video 4 & 5: Testimonies – Martha & David
The heart of the campaign.
We filmed two New Visions success stories that brought raw honesty and incredible resilience to the screen.
Martha had just left a halfway house that was failing her. She found stability—and a future—at New Visions. Today, she’s part of the staff.
David stopped drinking, got support, and turned his life around. Now? He works at New Visions, giving back to others who’ve walked his path.
These weren’t interviews. They were human moments—the kind that hit pause on judgment and replace it with understanding.
🧗♂️ The Behind-the-Scenes Grind
Had to reschedule key shoots after my unexpected health detour (but hey, that’s what contingency plans are for).
Navigated sensitive schedules with participants still rebuilding their lives.
And balanced the challenge of telling hard truths with dignity and warmth.
💥 The Impact
Let’s talk results:
💰 Fundraising climbed, both for general support and the Veterans Center specifically.
👥 Community conversations changed, with increased empathy and city-level engagement.
🌐 Online reach expanded, helping New Visions build a stronger digital presence.
📢 Most importantly, the mission wasn’t just stated—it was shown.
💡 Final Takeaway
This wasn’t about making a video………It was about making a difference.
We told stories that matter, elevated voices that deserve to be heard, and helped New Visions stand taller in their fight for housing, hope, and humanity.
And honestly? That’s the kind of work that keeps our cameras rolling.
